2009 JAZZ LUNCH

It may have been cold outside but the music was hot at the Grampian-Houston Association Jazz Lunch at the Marcliffe at Pitfodels Hotel, Aberdeen on Sunday, 8 February, 2009.

Guests struggled through snow and ice to attend the popular annual event. They were welcomed by Association Chairman Margaret Hadley and entertained by The Buchaneers Jazz Band. Social Convener Marlene McLeod was in charge of arrangements.

Pictured here are some of the guests, who included Burgesses of Guild of the City of Aberdeen.

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar Julie Anne Kenneally, from Marshfield, Massachussetts, was guest speaker at Grampian-Houston Association Thanksgiving Day dinner at the Royal Northern and University Club in Aberdeen, on 26 November, 2009.

Julie, a post-graduate student at Aberdeen University, told how her family celebrated Thanksgiving, and she is pictured receiving a gift from Association Chairman Raymond Bisset.

Also in the picture (L toR) are Heather Bisset, John Reynolds, Juliette Paton, David Paton, Rotarian Jim Couper, Ron McKail and Helen Reynolds.

GHA Board member and Aberdeenshire Councillor Ron McKail proposed a toast to H.M. The Queen and the President of the United States. Vice-chairman John Reynolds gave a vote of thanks to all who had contributed to the success of the evening.
