KRISTIN FOLLOWS IN BIG BROTHER’S FOOTSTEPS



Kristin Jackson-Brown followed in her brother’s footsteps when she was installed as Chairman of the Grampian-Houston Association in June 2019.


She replaced Jim Shiach who was Chairman from 2017 to 2019 and he took over the post from Kristin’s brother Brett who was Chairman from  2015 to 2017.


Kristin is Director of Nursing, Quality Improvement Director for the Slough-based Care Concern Group whose care facilities include two homes in Aberdeen – Rubislaw Park and Deeside Care Homes.


She graduated BSc (Honours) in Nursing at Robert Gordon University  in 2003 and went on to gain her MCc (Advanced Practice Health & Social Care) at Dundee University in 2010.


Her nursing experience includes a spell at Humble Surgical Hospital in Texas in 2012-13.


After joining the Grampian-Houston Association Board she was appointed Co-ordinator of the annual Grampian-Houston student nursing exchange between  Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and Houston Baptist University.


Kristin is the second women to hold the Association’s top post. The first was Margaret Hadley who is still a GHA Board member.
