New Grampian-Houston Chairman Appointed

On taking over as Chairman of the Grampian-Houston Association Raymond Bisset’s first duty was to present his predecessor Chairman Mrs Margaret Hadley with a certificate of  appreciation for her work as Chairman since 2007. Also in the picture is Honorary President David Paton.

Mr Bisset served as GHA President and Vice President during his time as Provost of Aberdeenshire Council and for the past two years he has been the Association’s Vice Chairman.

He retired from local government in 2007 after 32 years as an elected member of Gordon District Council and later Aberdeenshire Council.  He was made an O.B.E. for his service to local government.

Former Lord Provost of Aberdeen, Councillor John Reynolds was elected as Vice Chairman at the Association’s annual general meeting held at Woodhill House, Aberdeen on 23 June,2009.

Mr Bisset paid tribute to former Chairman Jimmy Hay and John Michie who retired as Board members and he welcomed Aberdeenshire Councillor Ron McKail as a new Board member.
