Sponsor Student Nursing Exchange

A study visit to Houston by two students nurses from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen is to be sponsored this year by the international energy industry service company, the John Wood Group plc.

Based in Aberdeen, the company’s North America headquarters are in Houston. The Wood Group have 28,000 employees in 46 countries and are among global market leaders in deepwater engineering; offshore pipelines; artificial lift using electric submersible pumps; enhancement of oil and gas production in mature fields; and repair and overhaul of industrial gas turbines.  

The annual student nursing exchange is organised by the Grampian-Houston Association and Association Chairman Mrs Mararet Hadley said they were delighted to have the support of the Wood Group as the main sponsors for the 2009 exchange.  The scheme also receives financial support from NHS Grampian and Albyn Hospital, Aberdeen.

Two student nurses selected by the Grampian-Houston Association will spend two weeks in Houston in October looking at healthcare provision and nursing education in Texas.

Two students nurses from Houston Baptist University  will pay a study visit to Aberdeen in May this year.
