Student Nursing Exchange 2010

Since 1995 an annual exchange of students nurses from the Robert Gordon Universiry in Aberdeen and Houston Baptist University has been arranged by the Grampian-Houston Association and the Houston/Grampian Association.

The students spend two weeks comparing healthcare provision and nursing education and practice in their Sister City areas. Following their study visit they submit reports on their findings to the two Associations.

The student nurses selected for the 2010 exchange are Susan Anne Naysmith  and Ryan Whyte (20), from the Robert Gordon University, and Evelyn Joy DeLeon and Christin Joelle Handy, from Houston Baptist University.

Susan and Ryan’s study visit to Houston in the autumn is being sponsored by the Wood Group.  Evelyn and Christin arrive in Aberdeen on 16 May, 2010 on the first leg of the exchange.

Born in Aberdeen but raised in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, where his parents still live, Ryan is specialising in adult nursing.

Perth-born Susan gained a Master of Arts honours degree in Philosophy at Glasgow University in 2006 and is now a second year mental health student.
